Why do I have to opt-in?

We can't collect/transfer money on your show's behalf without your approval.

Lawyers said so. We checked the business model with a media and arts lawyer who has helped us with our own podcasts at Nearly Media.

We took her advice and switched to an opt in model. Which has worked out for the best!

It means Podcast Creators that opt in get a larger share of monthly support and we know how to pay everyone that's accumulating money from listeners.

Opting in is free! Cashed out any time (but your balance will keep accumulate again with ongoing support from listeners).

What's the benefit?

Money from appreciative listeners for making your podcast.

You can spend it on anything you like!

What happens if I don't opt-in?

We'll still let you know when the first listener wants to support your show (free or paid).

If you don't opt in after the first paid listener, then other listeners can't support your show as we don't have your permission to work together.

How do I know if someone has supported my podcast?

We'll send an email to the address on your RSS feed. But because they're not on all feeds we also try to let you know through social accounts or your website.

How do I access accrued funds?

Request them here, or request a balance (we send monthly updates if your balance is more than $0.)

Is there an expiry period on when funds can be claimed?

No. Let it accumulate or cash out when you need it.

We created the accumulation function to minimise transaction fees and so it would arrive in an amount that is meaningful to you, when you choose.

I want to support a podcast that's not listed, how do I do this?

Contact us or contact the podcast and let them know you'd like to support them using Lenny.fm.

We're up for contacting podcast creators if you have something on that day.

My podcast isn't listed, how do I get it added to Lenny?

Contact us. We'll add it!

If I support less than 4 podcasts, how is the money distributed? (This might seem like common sense but I don't remember seeing it covered).

Among the eligible podcasts in your list.

Listeners to podcasts I producers support one of them and are determined that that's what they want to do. So we made sure Lenny.fm accounted for that.

• 1 eligible podcast = podcast receives $3.60 per month
• 2 eligible podcasts = each podcast receives $1.80 per month
• 3 eligible podcasts = each podcast receives $1.20 per month
• 4 eligible podcasts = each podcast receives $0.90 per month
